News : Topics : FSA The FSA or Financial Services Authority is the statutory regulator of many financial industries. It was originally responsible for overseeing investments and the City, but recently its role has expanded. It now overseas the mortgage industry and general insurance, including the common types of insurance such as home insurance, car insurance, travel insurance and more. Any company operating in these areas has to be approved by the FSA and has to accept its regulation. The FSA has government-backed power to fine transgressors or to withdraw authorisation from them, effectively banning them from the industry. News Stories on FSA:
