Emotional Costs for First Time Buyers

A survey by insurer Norwich Union shows that a quarter of couples feared for their relationship while buying a first house

A new survay from insurance giant Norwich Union shows that a quarter of couples buying their first home suffered relationship difficulties caused stress.

88% of people surveyed said that they had underestimated the costs involved, with a quarter of buyers going over budget by an average of £10,000.

69% of respondents also admitted they were confused or baffled by the whole process, and 70% of estate agents polled seperately agreed that first time buyers struggled to cope with the emotional pressure.
