Rates Up to 4.25%
Bank of England raises interest rates a quarter per cent

It comes as little surprise that The Bank of England has today raised the base rate by a quarter point, to 4.25%. The move had been widely predicted as the boom in consumer credit continues, and house prices continue to rise.
Many experts are now predicting that the rate will reach 5% by the end of the year, as previous rises have had little effect on borrowing.
