First Direct Wins Mortgage Award
First Direct bank wins What Mortgage? best direct lender award, and second overall lender

Online bank First Direct has won the Best Direct Lender award in the What Mortgage? awards. It also came second in the overall Best Value Lender category.
It is the fifth year running that First Direct have topped the direct lender category
The value awards judge mortgage lenders by the cost of borrowing over 2, 5 and 10 years, with First Direct coming first in the 2 year and 10 year categories, and a close second to Egg in the 5 year section.
First Direct chief executive Richard Kimber said that the awards showed that:
"...First Direct offers award-winning value for money, over both the short term and importantly, the life of a mortgage"
