Standard Life Reveals Shortfall Figures
75% of Standard Life mortgage endowment policies face shortfall
25th June 2003
Insurance company Standard Life has released figures detailing the full extent of its endowment shortfall crisis.
The company estimates that around 75% of its mortgage endowment policy holders will face some level of shortfall, with the blame being put on stock market falls.
Standard Life claims that it had greater exposure to equities than most competitors, and with the recent performance of the stockmarket, its policies may now not cover the full mortgage amount.
