Norwich Union Introduces Endowment Complaint Time Limit

Norwich Union introduces a 3 year time limit on endowment complaints

17th August 2004

Norwich Union is to introduce a 3 year time limit on complaints about mis-selling of endowment customers. The life insurer has around £1.1m endowment customers in the UK.

The new limit, due to come into effect in 2005, will mean that customers will need to make a complaint within 3 years of being informed that their policy is likely to result in a shortfall.

Customers will be sent a reminder letter one year before the time limit expires.

It is estimated that 3.5m policy holders across all UK endowment sellers will face a significant shortfall.
