Steep Rise in Arrangement Fees

Survey shows steep rise in average mortgage arrangement fees

Mortgage broker Charcol has released the results of a survey that claims the cost of arranging a mortgage has risen by 40% in the second half of 2004.

Its survey of 32 lenders found that the average arrangement fee on a mortgage rose from £339 to £480 over the period, leaving the total rise over the full year at 53%.
