Whitelely Insurance Consultants Placed into Liquidation

The Financial Services Authority acts against a broker selling invalid travel insurance policies

The FSA has placed a travel insurance broker into provisional liquidation after the High Court heard the company was selling insurance policies which were not underwritten by an insurer.

The brokerage company, based in West Yorkshire, also traded under the names of Kingfisher Travel Insurance, and Kingfisher Insurance Services.

The appointed liquidators, Price Waterhouse Coopers, fear that thousands of people could be left with policies not worth the paper they're written on, and have set up a hotline for customers worried about their policies: 08705 234803
