Virgin Launches 'Big V' Cancer Insurance
Virgin Money launches a comprehensive cancer insurance policy, a first for the UK market
10th January 2006
Virgin Money yesterday launched the UK's first specialist insurance policy to cover against cancer. The company claims that by only insuring against cancer rather than the full range of illnesses other policies cover, premiums can be reduced by up to 45%.
The new policy is the first in the UK to specifically cater for cancer, and pays out staged lump sums depending on the stage and severity of the condition.
Sir Richard Branson, commenting on the launch, said:
"We're hammering down the cost of cancer protection and offering the most comprehensive cancer cover available in the UK... ...which will help our customers to focus on recovery and not worrying about their finances."
