VAT
VAT, or Value Added Tax, is a UK tax levied on goods and services. The standard rate is 17.5% although some 'essential' items are zero rated.
Companies with a taxable turnover of £58,000 or more need to register for VAT. This means that they will be able to claim back any VAT on spending, although they must charge VAT on goods or services they sell.
