Variable Rate
A Variable Rate loan or mortgage is one where the interest rate changes over time, in line with the rise or fall of the Bank of England base rate, in contrast to a fixed rate deal where the APR stays the same for a set period.
If the interest rate falls, you will save money, but there is always the risk that if the rate rises significantly you could have difficulty in meeting your repayments.
