Lender

The lender is the company that actually provides the funds for your loan, and which ultimately decides whether to offer you a loan or not.

When you apply for a loan or mortgage, you will usually apply to a broker who does all the 'leg work' of checking your application and making sure that all the information necessary for your application has been completed.

The broker will then decide which lender or lenders is most likely to approve your application and give you a good rate, and passes the information on to them.

The lender will usually pay a broker or introducer a fee or commission for passing a customer's application on to them.
