Junk Bonds

Junk Bonds are a form of security that became popular in the 1980s, especially in America, but have fallen from favour.

They are basically a high interest fixed rate loan with a correspondingly high rate of risk, and are often used to finance takeovers that would normally be out of a company's reach, with the intention of quickly selling the target company's assets.
