Junior Market

A Junior Market is a market for trading in shares of smaller or younger companies, which do not yet wish to be listed on one of the main world stock markets.

An example is AIM (Alternative Investment Market), which is a junior market of the LSE (London Stock Exchange), and generally consists of small companies with high growth potential.

Regulations concerning being listed in a junior market are usually less strict than for a full listing, so junior markets are often used as stepping stones to a full listing.
