ISA

An ISA is an Individual Savings Account - a type of investment fund launched by the government in April 1999 that allows a saver to invest up to £7000 a year without paying tax on the proceeds.

The ISA scheme is guaranteed to be available for a period of at least ten years from the date of launch.

ISAs are the replacement for the older PEP and Tessa schemes.
