Day Trading

Day Trading is a method of investing on the stock market or in other equities. Day Traders make short term investments, aiming to profit from the daily fluctuations in stock value. Generally, such traders will no retain any investments overnight.

This form of trading became very popular in the late nineties, as technological advances such as real time reporting and online share trading became available, allowing easy independant investment, and many people made significant profits from this method during the dot com boom.

Daily volitility works both ways though, and you can potentially lose a lot of money - as many found out to their cost during the dot com crash.
