Buildings Insurance
Buildings Insurance is a kind of insurance which protects your property against structural damage caused by fire, storm, flood, other 'Acts of God' or subsidence.
Some policies will also cover against damage caused by crime or accidents.
Buildings Insurance is distinct from Contents Insurance as it only covers the structure of your home (walls, roof etc) and not the contents (personal possessions, furniture etc).
It is almost always a condition of a mortgage or other property loan that you have sufficient buildings cover.
