Bankers Draft

A Banker's Draft is simply a cheque written out by your bank which you can use to pay for goods or services.

Such drafts are generally seen as being more trustworthy than personal cheques, which always carry the risk of 'bouncing' (i.e. not being honoured), whereas a banker's draft will always be honoured unless the bank goes out of business in the meantime.

This trustworthiness means that they are a popular means of paying for more expensive items such as cars.

All banks can supply you with a banker's draft, but will generally charge you a fee for doing so, so it's worth considering if an alternative method such as an electronic money transfer may be more appropriate.
