AIM

The AIM or Alternative Investment Market is a global market for smaller companies who are growing but do not yet wish to have a flotation on the full Stock Exchange.

It is an example of a junior market, run by the London stock exchange, and imposes fewer restrictions on the kind of companies that can be listed, or the way in which they float.

It is often used by smaller companies with good growth potential as a stepping stone between private ownership and a full LSE listing.
