Christmas Credit Advice Campaign Launched

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT), financial institutions and advisors launch Christmas credit advice campaign for 18-24 year olds

7th December 2005

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has joined up with financial institutions, money advice agencies and others to launch an advisory campaign on Christmas credit aimed at young adults from 18-24 years.

The campaign, titled 'Be Choosy About Credit', is web based and interactive, and is aimed at helping people to decide which if any type of credit is best for helping them fund the expenses of the festive season.

Credit cards, personal loans, overdrafts, store cards and other types of credit are explained, and there's a budget calculator to help make sure repayments will be affordable.

The initiative wil be promoted nationally through radio and web advertising, plus posters and direct mailings.
