3rd June 2005
Water company Severn Trent has apologised to 48,000 of its customers after a computer error lead to them being charged twice for their June bill.
The error only affected customers who pay by direct debit, when their accounts were charged on the 1st of June and again on the 2nd.
Severn Trent has said that refunds will be made within a week, and that the company will consider compensation for customers who've lost money as a result of the error.
