Cahoot Launches 'Disposable' Credit Card
New disposable card from Cahoot to combat online fraud
12th December 2001
Online bank and credit card company Cahoot has launched a new 'disposable' credit card for use online, to help protect against internet credit card fraud.
The technology allows any Cahoot customer to generate a one-off credit card number linked to their account, for which you can set a maximum purchase value, and use the number online at any site that takes normal credit cards.
Once you've used the number, it is cancelled preventing further use. The upshot is that you'll never actually be giving your 'real' credit card number out across the net, which will help safeguard your account against fraud.
