Credit card company Barclaycard drops 3 insurance benefits, blaming new regulation

Barclarcard, the largest and oldest credit card issuer in the UK, has announced that it is to drop 3 insurance related benefits from its customer proposition. The company cites new insurance regulation which comes into force next month as one of the reasons for the changes.
The benefits to be dropped are:
- Free extended warranty on household goods
- Free travel accident insurance
- Price Protection insurance
Barclaycard says that new benefits will be introduced, including greater anti-fraud measures.
