Car Prices Reach 2-Year High
A survey by the Alliance and Leicester and What Car? magazine shows car prices soaring

The average cost of a new car has risen by 1.2% in the year to May 2004, according to a price survey but the Alliance and Leicester and Which Car? magazine.
The rises were not uniform, with some car categories rising by up to 5%, and the average cost of a new family car is £14,509, up 3.2% over the year.
Used cars have also risen, by a smaller degree, although 3 year old 4x4 vehicles have fallen by nearly 5%.
