Lloyds Customers Can Order Cheques by TXT

Personal and business customers of Lloyds TSB can now order a new cheque book with a simple text message

15th November 2005

Personal and business customers of Lloyds TSB can now order a new cheque book simply by sending a text message (SMS) via their mobile phone.

Customers should text CHQ for a cheque book, or PIB for a paying in book, followed by their sort code and account number, to 82332. The books will then be sent out within 4 working days.

Lloyds TSB's Internet and ATM director Matthew Timms said that as "Mobile phones have become an integral part of people's lives and we seem to be using them more and more", the new service would help "customers keep on top of those small tasks like ordering a cheque book which can easily fall by the wayside on a busy day".
