Survey shows increasing popularity of internet finance services

A survey by banking group Alliance and Leicester has highlighted the growing popularity of online banking among UK customers, as the number who manage their current accounts rising by 63% since 2003.

Of those who bank online, 78% now use the internet to manage most or all of their banking, compared to 39% two years ago.

70% of people said they found online statements easier to handle than paper ones, while a full third of Britons with online access would like to see the end of paper-based billing altogether.
