Natwest to Launch Mobile Bank
A new mobile bank will provide face to face banking services in remoter parts of Cornwall
11th July 2005
Cornwall is to be the first area in England or Wales to benefit from a new mobile bank service operated by Natwest.
The bank will provide rural areas with face-to-face banking services, and will be fully accessible to those with mobility problems.
The bank will visit locations according to a scheduled route, allowing customers to plan ahead and make full use of the bank which will offer a range of banking services found in normal branches.
Natwest says that its mobile branch will be staffed by existing employees, and that it will be run as an addition to its existing local network of 20 branches.
The idea came from the popularity of 13 mobile banks in rural Scotland since 1946, which are run by Royal Bank of Scotland, Natwest's parent company.
