47,000 Missing Out on Bradford and Bingley Windfall

Nearly £40m worth of demutualisation windfall payments remain unclaimed

4th December 2003

Banking group Bradford and Bingley have revealed that 47,000 shareholders have failed to collect their demutualisation windfall since the group floated in December 2000.

The windfall was worth £750 with a further £90 in dividends due to each shareholder, bringing the total unclaimed to nearly £40m.

The group have urged the 'missing' shareholders to claim their cash before the shares are sold in three months time. The proceeds from the share sale will be held for nine years.
